Synopsis
Ten years after his big international hit ‘Ghost In The Shell’, director Mamoru Oshii burst on the international scene with the long awaited sequel ‘Innocence: Ghost in the Shell 2’ - puts Oshii right back in top form. Based on the same source material (Manga series by Masamune Shirow), the film features some of the same characters from the first film, Bateau, Kusanagi, and Togusa. The plot unravels as Bateau investigates a grisley murder commited by a humanoid/female robot. The film has been selected to compete for the Palme d'Or at the 2004 Cannes International Film Festival, marking the first time ever that this honour has been extended to an animated movie.
