Description:
It has already been five years since Winter Sonata, and now, get your first look at Bae Yong-yoon’s upcoming period epic fantasy drama The Legend (aka: The Story Of The First King’s Four Gods, The Four Gods, The Great King And The Four Guardians)! The Korean Wave star portrays one of the famous figures in Korean history, the Great King Gwanggaeto of the Goguryo kingdom. Gwanggaeto’s reign marked a high point in Korean dynastic history, and this drama follows his rise to power, military conquest and romantic encounters.
Without any doubt, the most anticipated Korean drama of 2007 is The Legend. It caused a major uproar in the media from the very beginning with it’s A-list cast of Bae Yong-yoon, Moon So-ri (Oasis), Choi Min-soo (Holiday), and Park Sang-won (Sandglass). The 32-episode drama’s staggering $40 billion Won production costs and the addition of fantasy to a Korean historical drama makes this series unique and distinguishes itself from its predecessors in Korean television series. The characters also speak in a modernized Korean language which marks a departure from a historical drama. Viewer response has been positive, with some even placing the drama’s CG work in the same league as that of the Hollywood film Lord Of The Rings. The Legend became the drama of the first rank from its first episode and scored ratings of 37% for its final episode. Presiding over the scores of The Legend is none other as the Japanese master composer Joe Hisaishi, best known for his work on Hayao Miyazaki films like Howls Moving Castle, Spirited Away, and Princess Mononoke. Joe Hisaishi brings a world-class presence and high esteem to this drama. He also collaborates with K-pop sensation Dong Bang Shin-ki for Eternal Love, the ending theme to The Legend which features majestic surround sounds that complement the grandiose scale of this drama.

Kajin (Moon So Ri) was jealous and she took the baby throwing him off a cliff, leading to Saeoh going out of control and turning into the black joojak (Dark Phoenix) to destroy the world. Hwanwoong had to use his heavenly bow to stop her...
Many centuries later, the reincarnation of Hwanwoong, Damdeok (Bae Yong Joon), the king of Goguryeo was born. Along with him, the artefacts of the guardians of the King were born...
