The story takes place thousands of years ago in ancient China where a hero fights for his love against his destiny. He wanted to have another chance to be reunited with his loved one. He gets this chance in a far away place and in a far away time – in the cold north, in modern Finland.
“Jade Warrior” is set in the early iron age in ancient China and in present day Finland. The history in the past is filling the story in the present day, slowly revealing our warrior’s real origin, his martial arts skills and his destiny.
“Jade Warrior” is the first Finnish Kung Fu film combining Finnish and Chinese mythologies into one film. This film is also a homage to the Kung Fu genre, spiced with a truly original approach to the Finnish national epic “Kalevala”. Like “Kalevala”, “Jade Warrior” is a melodrama and a story of Kalevala’s greatest hero.
